Babies, Cricut, and Behavior

Don't you just love it when you wake up with a headache? I'm supposed to sleep in on the weekend, not be up early with a headache! It feels a little better now which is good because in a few hours I have my friend's baby shower to go to.

So all we know is that it will be a boy and the theme is monkeys. She is sworn by her husband not to share the baby's name. All she can say is that it is two names combined but not 'weird' but not 'common'. What does that mean? Billy-joe? Billy-bob? Ahh I can't wait til Stewart Little is born! Oh, their last name is Stewart so we've dubbed the baby Stewart Little. Cute huh?

This is what I made:

It says treasure, little one, boy, tiny toes, and snips and snails. Remember the design I got off of Pinterest? I had a limit of what I could  fit in without it looking crowded and I love how it turned out!

Finished product in the frame :)

Baby card I made.

Alright, so it seems a ton of you loved the idea I found on Pinterest. And decided I'd try my hand again at a linky party.....so here it is. Link up anything related to behavior/classroom management or behavior incentives.

Sunny Sunday and Cricut Crafts

The sun is shining, yay! The plan for today is...nothing. Though my room does need a good cleaning, especially after unpacking from the trip. I'm also working on two freebies (yay!) for March and are Seuss related. One is almost done and the other is done! I feel like I'm ahead of the game woohoo!

Now I have some really sweet friends. I mean REALLY sweet. And one of them went and bought me something for my Cricut! Just because and also because she knew I was looking for this:

And the one she bought was sparkly...does she know me or what?

I am so excited about this! Now I can get rid of my Cricut cases if  I want and can be more organized! Hmm maybe that's what I'll do today, work on Cricut stuff. I think I mentioned this before, but  my friend is having a baby shower next week and I want to make a canvas or photo frame for her and it will have different sayings like "tiny toes", "mommy's boy" and other cute baby stuff like that.
I picked most of the same words. I also made a heart and star too.

And in following suit I joined Kindergarten Lifestyle's linky party:

Subway Art

As you all know, I'm a bit obsessed with Pinterest...shocking I know! Lol :) My latest obsession on Pinterest is called Subway Art. I'll show you my latest pins (I had to make a board just for Subway Art!)

How fabulous is this?!?!

I could definitely see this in the classroom!

I also have pinned ones for holidays:

Ok, so now you get the idea of what Subway Art is!  Now, Cricut has a cartridge that I am REALLY wanting called Word Collage:

This has stuff for baby girls and boys, some holidays, and some other stuff.

Looking at this gave me a few ideas. One of them is I could creat my own Subway Art with or without this cartridge, by just typing in words/phrases using any of my other cartiridges and put them all together on a cardstock. For instance, my friend is having a baby boy and on the cartridge is cute, but there is one on Pinterest I've seen that I could recreate:

My other possibly brilliant idea, is that you could do this for any theme you are doing in your classroom. So for an ocean unit, for example, it could say waves, seal, dolphins, whales, starfish, etc. Oh this opens up so many possibilities!!! And I could see making this with wordle...so keep your eyes peeled, because I think that I'll be making them for freebies. Do you think this is a good idea? I also think that I'll be making a teacher one for the prize when I get 100 followers (only 31 away!)

Cricut Anyone?

I love my Cricut!  And for those of you who don't know what it is (you really should know!), no it's not an insect or the game you play :)  It's basically an electronic die cut machine that does most of the work for you!

This is my first Christmas with a Cricut and I wish I had it last year at this time! It has made my life a lot easier, truly. I've made a few Christmas Cards with it. But my favorite thing so far is the Christmas gift tags. I bought Christmas paper at Michaels when they had them 1/2 priced.  I cut out small, medium, and a few big tags. Love them!

Little blurry pics from my phone, but here they are:

It makes the hole, so I just added ribbon :)

Big green tag and medium white tag.

I love that you can adjust the sizes to what you want. It worked perfectly! This is just one of the many things you can make/do with a Cricut :)

*I am not promoting or working for Cricut. This is just my opinion of my Cricut machine :)

Feeling accomplished

Just finished the headpiece to my Halloween costume. So the main part, the socks/shoes, headpiece are all complete. I have make up and hair glitter and little accessories. This means it is actually done. I'll definitely have to dress once to make sure it is good and to decide if I need anything else. I can't wait!

This morning I was super busy. I did laundry, dishes, worked out, cleaned the shower, swept and dusted, and then worked on stuff for this Saturday's Fall auction, with the theme of Thanksgiving. And I don't really consider it 'work' as I got to use my Cricut! My friend that is in charge bought the paper and cartridge for me to borrow and then I had to make 50 leaves :) It was fun and they will look nice for the tables/walls.

My schedule for the week is Mon-Thursday so far.  3rd grade, then 1st grade 2 days (same class) and then 2nd grade.

Busy busy!

It seems like I prepare for one event , have a day to breathe and prepare for another lol.

So with the BBQ competition behind me, I have a community BBQ on Thursday, but my dad's retirement party is what is on my mind because that is the 27th and I have to finish all the decor.

I have a WW meeting tonight ( I just joined last week) and  dentist appointment tomorrow then the BBQ on Thursday.

Decor is just about finished. I spray painted the twigs I got at Dollar Tree silver. I have to go buy more twigs though. It's really cute looking as I put it all together today for a look. But then was struck taht it needed something a bit more and stars, silver stars came to mind. Fitting since my dad was a police sergeant.

Oh and look at the duffel bag I have!

I bought it from a friend's daughter as a fundraiser thinking I'd use it for traveling but it's just a tad too small for me unless it's a one nighter lol. So to my surprise, my Cricut fit in it and all its stuff. Yay!

And school will be starting soon...though I *probably* won't be called til the second week, if even that. Though last year was the first day of school ;)

BBQ Cookoff

Tomorrow is the BBQ competition, the  cook off!  Personally I hope my dad wins, but there are also four other teams that I will root for. Last I heard there were 14 teams and possibly 4 more.

Last night I met with the non-profit group that I help out with and we were moving stuff into an empty builiding we are allowed to use as storage for our auction in October. The building used to be Grocery Outlet and how sad we all were when they shut it down (way back when it was Rite-aid).

We got lights working but not the electrical outlets so I couldn't make my posters with the Cricut like planned so they sent stuff home with me to make the posters.  Oh I had fun. And I just got a text saying we are selling pop too so I need to cut out those letters yet and I have a little picutre of pop on one of my cartidges (I only have 2 compared to my friend who I kid you not has 20).

This is what I made:
To the one that has water on it, I can easily add pop between it and the price.

I love the otter poops one! I sent a picture of these on my phone to the president of the group and she couldn't get over how cute they were. We have a booth up at the cook-off. The whole thing is being run by firefighters and all money goes to the local search and rescue group, so this whole thing is great. For $10 you get a meal ticket of pulled pork sandwich/chips/coleslaw/soda and then all the samples you want. Plus live music! I soooo can't wait for tomorrow. I'll spend the night out there too. Yay!

I bought a ...

Cricut Expression! I'm so excited. It's my birthday present to myself since I didn't find anything I liked last month (my birthday). I tested it out already and I see SO many possibilities.

It's first major use will be making stars and cut outs for my dad's retirement party.  I stopped at the Dollar Tree for some shopping.I bought square candle holders and deep blue sea glass. I also bought some thick sticks that I may stick in the containers too. They only had 1 candle mirror (to go under) and I didn't buy it. I'll probably head to Michaels' tomorrow and see what they have and see if they have stuff for my Cricut.

I know that when I have my own class I'll use it alot too. In the mean time, I plant to make cards and do some other crafty stuff. I bought a mason jar with a wire lid and think I'll buy some vellum and put my name on it. Oh the possibilities are endless.

I'm so excited :D
