Monday Made It #3 (and Giveaway Winners)

I really feel like I am getting a lot accomplished this summer, thanks to Tara's linky party. I was actually worried that I'd be bored...ha! Between making Pinterest projects, this blog, Endless Pinabilities, creating products for my TN store, and my 'real' life and Saturday Market job, I'm feeling pretty busy!

Anyway, back to the Monday Made it :) This was pinned like crazy:

Super cute. But I don't have a classroom. I do however, have a bedroom in need of more space, especially for my workout clothes and crafts (odd combo, but true!)

So I went to Wally World and picked me up one of these bad boys:

There was white and black, but I thought black was classier and meshed better with my room color.

I've seen others do over their draws with modge podge...but like Maria at Kinder Kraze, I decided to tape it. Plus I don't have modge podge (but I'm going to make some, another Pinterest idea!). The tape worked pretty well!

I love how it turned out! I decided to add my own flair by using the tiny bit of leftovers I had as middle stripe and I really like how it turned out. 

Now to decide what the next project should be...

Monday Made It #2

This is my second Monday Made It and I'm loving it!

This next craft was inspired by this:

Now I really love this, but I had to change a few things up. First off, I know I'd have the best intentions of putting a menu up each week, but I know that won't always happen. So I did put the days of the week, but didn't use my Cricut, I just wrote the days of the week. And I didn't put "menu" on top.

Border is The 3 AM Teacher and background is Mel Stampz.

First I got a frame from the Dollar Tree. I like the size of it but the one on Pinterest is 12x12 if you want a bigger frame and my Dollar Tree doesn't carry that size.

First you need a frame and your scrapbook paper to start with. I chose a lined scrapbook paper that looks like it's for school. Oh and I tried out Instagram to snap these shots :)

 I hand wrote the days of the week and then added other. But you could totally print labels or Cricut it.

Now there are so many options of what to use it for!

I really love the ribbon with the dry erase marker attached. I never have to hunt for one. And I bought a 3pack of red, blue, and black at the Dollar Tree. These markers have eraser caps too! Score :)

And speaking of crafting...this starts tomorrow!

Monday Made It

Yay, I'm finally linking up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics for her Monday Made It (I keep typing Made it Monday lol).

This is really fitting since yesterday was Father's Day. My dad LOVES to BBQ, well actually Traeger..it's like a BBQ but it also allows you to smoke the food too. You can make ANYTHING on the Traeger. I had a friend make cookies! Of course she didn't smoke it lol.

He's always using a plate to put the chicken, salmon, or whatever he's cooking on. Usually it's chicken though, since that's his thing in the BBQ competition.

I saw this fun and easy project on Pinterest I'd been wanting to try. Can I say again how easy it was? Easy!

Well I had to make it less girly, so I didn't do cursive. And I didn't write a story/poem/song. But that would be fun! Instead, I used grilling/cooking terms specific for my dad.

Simple materials right? I already had a sharpie. And an oven...imagine that lol :) So I just bought a cheapo $1 plate.

Then I thought about the words I wanted to write and where. I decided to just go around the border.

Then I also had a blue sharpie and used it to make those blue accent dots. Hmm maybe this is a good excuse to go buy a rainbow sharpie pack. Anyway, pop in the oven at 150 degrees for 30 minutes. I've also seen info for 30 minutes at 350. 

My final project! 

My words include chicken, chef, smoke, flame, fish, cook..

Simple project, fun, and cheap! I could see doing one for birthdays, Christmas, any potluck or gathering really. Christmas I could put Christmas song titles, gatherings I could put 'friends', 'food', 'talk'... oh the possibilities are endless. Good thing the plates are only $1 :)

Paint Chips Galore and More

So you know how I help at my friend's work once a month for a class? (Well if you didn't, you do now lol.) Anyway, we made water squirt tubes out of pvc pipe and it was a ton of fun. On the way out, I was glancing at the paint chip samples and even though I knew the answer would be yes, I asked if I could grab a handful, thinking that maybe next week (or two) I can get started on a project.


Well, yep, my answer was yes. Then my jaw dropped as my friend continued talking. She told me not only could I have a handful. I could have the WHOLE display of paint chip samples because they are going to be selling a new brand of paint at her store and not that brand anymore. In fact, she said they'd box them all for me and write my name on it. SCORE!!!!!!!!

Now that I'm going to have a gazillion paint samples, I'm going to have to figure out what to do with all them. So I hopped on my Pinterest and went straight to my Paint Chip DIY board I created to get some ideas.

Now I've got other pins, but they're holiday related and some are card ideas, so I won't work on those yet. I also have seen some paint chip garlands that look cute.

Teacher Appreciation, Baking, and More

I'm going to my friend's house tonight for a celebration of her living room remodel. I decided to bake something to bring over since it's at 7, so not really a dinner but snacks and munchies. They usually expect me to bring baked goods, so I don't want to disappoint!

I tried out a new recipe but improvised several times. It's supposed to be chocolate walnut biscotti but I used pecans (still tastes good!). And I was supposed to roll into logs and then cut but instead I did little scoops and then flattened 1/2 way through baking. They still look good!

I don't think it matters how they look, just the taste! Lol.

But I was struggling keeping my recipe book open and then I remembered something I saw on Pinterest, I'm pretty sure.

Oh I found it! Definitely want to give credit where credit is due :)

 So I ran to my closet (stayed true to my May Currently and cleaned my closet and I had 2 spare hangers and 2 bags full of clothes to donate).

And I made this:



I love how it just hangs on the microwave! You cold hang it on the cabinet door too if you don't have an overhead microwave.

So easy and simple. But then I had to pretty it up, just a little bit.

I know you've seen it out there and I've talked about it before this week, but today starts the TN celebration!

Crafting Day

First off, wow! 128 followers....thanks so much! You have until Thursday to enter a chance to win a creation by me or a $25 TpT giftcard!

Yesterday was a marathon crafting day. The schedule was 9 am to 9 pm. I was there at 8 since I had to make breakfast and it took an hour to bake and I wanted it ready for when the ladies came. There were 10 of us all together and we each had our own table.

Every lady brought what they needed for crafting. Three of my friends brought their sewing machines and quilted. Two others brought their Stampin' Up! stuff and made cards. Two other ladies had a Cricut and were scrapbooking. I was the exception and had a bunch of crafts lined up, thanks to Pinterest.

I had a plan of attack. I had printed out a collage of snapshots of my crafts. Brilliant idea, truly! So you'd think I'd have a ton of stuff to show for 12 hours of crafting right? Well between the talking with the friends, and the looking at their crafts, and me cooking 3 meals for 10 ladies, I didn't get as much done as I would have liked but did produce a fair amount.

I made over 100  hearts that were 9 3/4 inch on my Cricut. That was time consuming. And got boring. But was necessary for a Ladies' Night we are have in February at my friend's work. We are going to hang them on jute twine from the ceiling and it will look brilliant!

Here is what I made (all from Pinterest!)

Button magnets. Just hot glue magnets on. Easy and cute!

Oh and I also started on a baby present for my friend. She is having a baby boy so I used my Cricut and several cartridges to make words and will assemble it to create something like this:

Pretty good job right? Cute stuff. The meals were a success! Breakfast casserole, lunch was a baked potato soup with rolls, and dinner was a crockpot bolognese sauce with spaghetti and garlic french bread. One lady said , "Oooh I'm so full." Hehe, guess it was good. She also was excited the bolognese sauce had veggies in it :)

Getting Crafty With It

"Gettin' crafty with it, na-na-na-na-na". Ok in my head it sounds like "Getting Jiggy With It" lol. I cannot wait for Craft Day on the 21st! It's being put on by my friend and you pay a sum and get a table and get your crafting on from 9 am to 9 pm. You get 3 meals, get your crafts done, and hang out with friends. Plus the money that you spent to buy your meals/table goes back to the community.

So I may have whined a little to my friend and she said that I can go for free in exchange for me cooking the three meals. I don't know what I was thinking but I agree and now will be cooking 3 hot meals for at least 10 people *gulp*. I'm sure it'll be fine. I met with Kelly today to go over the menu and about next weekend when I'm in charge of the building with kids thing we have once a month. And now she's offered me the summer market position for her work and I'll man (woman?) the booth like I did one weekend last summer. Except now it'll be more than once. And I get to drive a van (somehow that really excited me lol).

Anyway, I've been going through all my Pinterest crafts and deciding which ones I want to make in between cooking meals and made a list of what crafts I'll make.I love making lists...something about crossing items off is so satisfying! Today I went and bought most of the materials for my crafts.

I plan on making a button bracelet:

All that is needed is thread, elastic, buttons, and a needle.

So I bought a ton of crafty stuff today:

Containers so I can be organized (the round one will be for buttons)

I have to decide the color scheme of the bracelet but what doesn't go on will become magnets.

Black/white or blue/green

3 stamps @ $0.97 each. Too cute to not pass up! I think I could make  a poster or maybe slips/bookmarks with this stamp to hand out to kids or something :)

I don't know what I need these for but again, $0.97, I couldn't pass up. If I was in a classroom, I'd say word work. Right now I could use them for cards.

And of course some ink to go with the stamps, also $0.97.

Oh I got all this at Walmart :) I just went to the craft section for some and the scrapbooking area for the stamps and rummaged around the clearance bin. I really can't wait for the 21st. And definitely will be posting my creations :)
