Ask Away!

Hey everyone!

Quick post today! My question is, what questions do you have for me? Is there something you've always wanted to ask a substitute but never have gotten the chance (or didn't want to ask that particular sub? Lol). Here's your opportunity! You can ask me any substitute questions.

Or if you're a sub yourself, ask me questions about subbing! What do I bring in my bag? Or how do I deal with certain situations? Whatever you want!

Oh heck, maybe you want to know what my favorite color is...you can ask those questions too! Those are always fun.

You can either leave a comment down below with your question or send an email my way at ttlusty07@yahoo.com if you'd rather do it private. Fine by me!

I do hope I get some questions or I may have to make some up hahaha! Happy Wednesday everyone!

  1. How do you save on storage space for photos in Blogger? Do you host your photos somewhere for free and link them up when you write your blog posts?

    1. I store them in Dropbox, but some of them I also store in Google Drive. In the past, I've stored them in Photobucket too.

  2. I just started subbing, and would like to make sure I'm prepared. What do you keep in your bag, or have on hand for any sub job? Off to look through your blog more, and take notes. Thanks. :)

    1. I keep a book, math worksheets, flash cards, fun worksheets, art ideas at all times. Plus I have access to my files through Dropbox (I can get to from any computer) and I have stuff there too. Best of luck!

  3. Hi, I'm new to subbing as well and I'm really nervous. Basically, should I purchase emergency sub plan textbooks or do you have a website where you like to print for free? Have you subbed for special education classrooms? What materials do you like/not like? How do you handle behavior issues? Have you been in a situation where you wanted to run out of the classroom screaming? And what did you do? Do you use Aesop or do you have a sub school home? Do you prefer younger classrooms/ or the older students? Thanks!

    1. I didn't have any emergency plan stuff, so I created my own. I love teacherspayteachers for that stuff. I have done special education a few times. I use Sadie not Aesop. Yes, I've wanted to run out screaming a few times haha, but I take a deep breath and assess the situation. I prefer younger students, but others prefer older lol. I'll go more in depth in a blog post!

    1. I've never subbed in long term, but I have an idea of what I would do. I would make sure to visit the class to get to know the kids before hand. I would want to see how the schedule goes, routines, etc. Maybe bring a little gift for the kids? On the first full day, maybe a get to know you game. Love first grade!
