Whatcha Wearing?

Oh boy. It's been forever since I've done a Whatcha Wearing Wednesday!

Well I signed up for a little ol' thing called ipsy that some of my blog pals were talking about. It's like Birchbox, but comes in a different bag each month!

Look at those goodies! Found out the retail value was about $50 and I only paid $10!
The lotion smells soooo good.

I'm fortunate to live near the outlets, though my wallet may not be thanking me haha!

I scored though. The two boots I got on clearance and then the cheaper pair 50% off on top of that! And the Columbia slippers were 50% off too!  Paid about $80 and retail value is $220...I think that is a BARGAIN!

Aren't these just too cute? They have a sheen to them that I love.

Sketchers boots!

Columbia...so warm...so fuzzy!

Buon Appetito!

Non educational post!

I love to cook and bake. And I love me some crock pot! Now, I am trying to eat healthier and my main go to website I love is Skinnytaste!  I get her daily emails and love her website.

Now, her stuff does NOT taste all health foodish. It's got flavor! She's got all sorts of stuff from breakfast to dessert and has some crock pot recipes.

She just posted this Crock Pot Italian Sloppy Joe recipe I had to make!

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb Italian turkey sausage, removed from casing
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped in 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped in 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 1/3 cups crushed tomatoes (Tutorosso)
  • 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
  • salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste

For serving:

  • 6 whole wheat 100 calorie potato rolls
  • 6 slices reduced fat provolone (Sargento)
  • 1 cup baby spinach

Directions:

In a medium non-stick skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat, breaking up as it cooks into small bits until cooked through, about 5-6 minutes. Add onions and garlic, and cook another 2 minutes.

Transfer to the slow cooker and add the bell peppers, crushed tomatoes, rosemary and fresh cracked pepper.

Cover and cook on low 4 hours. Makes 3 1/2 cups.

To serve, place heaping 1/2 cup of meat on a roll and if desired, top with cheese and baby spinach.

Makes 6 servings.

Spinach optional :) Same with cheese. But I love cheese.

The final product!

Paired with a salad...yum!

I'm linking up with On The Menu Monday from my buddy Jen at The Teachers' Cauldron.

Wedding Bliss

I just have to say congrats to my two friends that got married yesterday! It was a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family and we danced the night away!

One of my most favorite parts was lighting heart lanterns for well wishes.

They lit up the sky!

We also found out some later that people in the city were trying to figure out what the glowing lights in the country were hahaha! We were out on a farm.

Top left: We were in the greenhouse but there were white lights and white lanterns everywhere!
Top right: Wedding party table. The last name made from wood blocks.
Bottom left: Schedule of events and wedding party. I LOVED it! The images for each person are exact.
Bottom right: Part of the table decor. Boxes of hershey kisses, bubbles, candles, vases with either tulips or orchids, or lilacs.

Best entertainment ever was the DJ Doc Titus aka the Party Doctor. He is funny, entertaining, and upbeat. We did the limbo, we cha-cha slided (slid?), macarenad, did the electric slide, dance to Cotton Eye Joe, Footloose, Twisted, Gangam Styled, and he played some 80's and 90's songs. Push It, Baby Got Back, Jump Around, and a ton more. My feet slightly hurt today from all the dancing haha.

Me all dressed up and my nails painted with polish from my Ipsy bag and a ring from Very Jane.
Necklace from Cookie Lee and shirt from Heart 2 Soul.

Yay, it's another video lol. I'm really loving this video thing. It's a busy week, so it was easier for me to just create the videos and preschedule the posts (ooh that'll be another video!) So today's video is about your account on TN with a brief overview.

The Potato Chip Champ Blog Tour

I had the awesome privilege to review Maria Dismondy's latest book, The Potato Chip Champ.
This book has such a great message about kindness! The graphics are fantastic and it had me smiling through the whole book.

The book is about two boys, Champ and Walter. They both love baseball and potato chips. Champ had everything a kid could ask for, but he wanted more. Walter, on the other hand, had very little but was always smiling. Walter teaches Champ a lesson on kindness with potato chips.

The Potato Chip Champ would be a book I recommend you add to your library! This is perfect for character education and your kids will connect with the book. Who doesn't love potato chips?
There's even a reader's guide made by Jennifer Runde, just click on Jennifer's name to get the guide.

And guess what? Maria was so generous, that she said I could give away a copy of her book too! Thanks Maria! Want to enter? It's super simple. Just enter your e-mail in the rafflecopter and like Maria on FB or Twitter. That's it! Rafflecopter picks the winner in a few days and I'll contact you for your address and send it to Maria and she will send you an autographed copy of The Potato Chip Champ!
