Monday Made It : T Time

I had another "T" left from Walmart, my 20 cent find! This time I had no idea what I was going to do until I glanced over at my art cart and saw my heaping pile of ribbons.

Plain and ready to go!

Ribbons galore!

Started tying them on

Finished product with a ribbon around to hang it.

The back side looks cute with the ties all on it. Only problem I had is that this T is curved and kind of a funky shape, but I think it turned out cute!

Link up your projects for Tara's Monday Made It party!

Teachers Notebook Bonanza!

Hey bloggy pals! I opened up my e-mail this morning and saw I had a newsletter from Steve over at Teachers Notebook and there is some pretty amazing stuff going on !

Teachers Notebook is sponsoring a campaign to raise $10,000 (or more) from corporate sponsors and parents. All of the contributions to the campaign will be given to educators in the form of gift certificates to purchase the educational resources that they need.

They need your help to make sure educators have access to the educational resources that they need for back to school as well as for the school year. Additional educational resources enables educators to better reach the varied academic levels of their students. Educators constantly strive to reach students above and below their grade level. Additional resources will help students be actively engaged and more likely to reach their fullest potential.
Please help spread the word by visiting the fund-raising site and sharing it everywhere. Share it on Facebook, your blogs, your Pinterest boards and Twitter. The more people view the campaign, the more contributions will be made and the more gift certificates can be given away to educators.

Isn't that soooo amazing? That means there will be some amazing giveaways and sales going on!

Random Kind of Day and RAK

I'm so bored today and I don't feel like working out. I decided to go shopping instead and remembered that I had a certain RAK that wanted to do. I headed over to the Dollar Tree and planted 5 $1 bills around the store, mostly in the kid area but also in the art area.

Ready to go and be hidden!

A dollar in the girl aisle by the puzzles.

A dollar in a counting book. Appropriate!

So I hid a dollar in the arts and crafts, a dollar in the boys' aisle, the girls' aisle, the counting book, and one in the teacher aisle. It was so much fun. I never got to see someone get a dollar, but that's alright, it was so fun hiding them. It felt like a secret mission and I didn't want to get caught. This lady and her son walked by a dollar a few times. Another time this woman was right in front of it. But no one ever got it!

Then it was off to quinoa at the health store because it was way cheaper there. And then off to another grocery store. I saw one of my students and we were just grinning at each other! I also ran into an old classmate and we struck up a conversation. Then I ran down to my friend's store and gave a worker a hug and got my box for Saturday Market tomorrow.

I came home and baked these babies.

A box of spice cake mix and a can of pumpkin and I made 24 mini cupcakes. Delish!

My random day and random acts of kindess. Sometimes you have to have those random days :)

Tell Me More Link Up

I'm trying to think of things I haven't said yet hahaha.

1. I can be OCD at times about different things. Like I ALWAYS have to be early when I go somewhere, even if that means sitting in my car for a bit. I don't know why, maybe it's just a fear of being last or late? And I'm a smidgen OCD about having things in pairs. I don't really like odd numbers except for 3, because that's how many it was in my house lol.

2. I'm an only child. Need I say more? Lol.

3. I love traveling. I've been to many state and national parks, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and overseas to Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

4. I love the beach. I'm kind of sad I haven't made it there yet this summer, but I'll try very hard too! I love the sea smell and the sounds of the waves! We're blessed with a beautiful coast here in Oregon.

5. I love hanging out with my friends. And most of them I met during community things. They are the best that you could ever ask for!

6. I love to cook and bake. I have fun creating new recipes.

7. I love to go crabbing and to eat crabs!

8. I love to craft and I love Pinterest. I even started another blog for teachers who love Pinterest (Endless Pinabilities).

9. I'm super close to my mom. She's my best friend!

This is an old pic!

<3

10. I've met some celebrities in my life! JTT (Jonathan Taylor Thomas), Mike Fourtner (Time Bandit on Deadliest Catch...plus I know his parents!), and Hungry Girl Lisa Lillien.

Hungry Girl!

11. I want to find the love someday that my parents have! They've been married 31 years but still act like newlyweds all the time :)

12. I dislike spiders, sushi, and plain tomatoes. I can stand tomatoes in stews/chilis and salsa. But not by themself!

13. I love purses and jewelry!

14. I usually have to have music playing, I hate a quiet house (usually lol).

That's it. Well not all, but I don't want to keep going on and on. I hope you know more about me now :)

Random Acts of Kindess and 500 follower Giveaway

500 followers, say what? Thanks Kari for being number 500!!!
I started freaking out because I had nothing planned and part of me wanted to do a giveaway , because teachers like giveaways, but I wanted to do something different.

And then I started thinking about 500 and then the number 5.

5 favorite teacher items? 5 favorite books? The possibilities are endless! And then I remembered that we were talking about Random Acts of Kindness back at the beginning of the year. That's what I want!

I'm going to combine two things...I'll have a giveaway and have something to do with RAK. I'll give away 5 items from my store and in order to enter, you have to do 5 RAK. Not too difficult right?

Need ideas on RAK? Well here is a  RAK for you!

This also a freebie on Google Docs. Click the pic :)

Need more ideas? Check out the Random Acts of Kindess Foundation's list.

Start thinking about your RAK!!!  I tried to do some today while I was out shopping and I smiled at someone, struck up a conversation, and let someone go ahead of me.

Ok, so all you need to do, is leave me a blog comment on 5 RAK you did during the day/week or what you plan on doing! 5 people will be winners of any item in my store(s). Click either button below to check the items out. I have more items on my TN as that's my first store.

You've got a week to spread and share the love! Of course it'd be awesome if you do it all the time :)

Monday Made It #6

Well I was really hoping my next post on my blog was going to be about my 500 followers but I am one shy! If it wasn't about that, then I'm happy it's my Monday Made It post!

Linking up with Tara:

This week's Monday Made It is a two-fer. I made two things!

First was my own mod-podge.

Inspired by the Do It Yourself Divas, it was easy to make! Here is their DIY Mod Podge:

All you need is glue and water and a bottle. However much glue you put in the bottle, that's how much water you put in. And shake!

Here's mine:

I decorated the bottle up and so no one thinks it's milk! :)

Remember the wooden T's I found for $0.20 at Wal-mart? And the fabric I used for my pendant banner? Well I was inspired to use my Mod Podge on fabric.

My 20 cent T.

I put Mod Podge on the bottom of the fabric and then gave the whole top a bath. And don't worry, that little spot on the upper  right part of the T is covered now :)

Now I still have that other T do do something with...

Media Connections

It's so amazing how I take technology for granted. I'm without my laptop due to it not being able to connect to the internet (I'm on a borrowed computer) and I don't have my powerpoint so I can't make teacher products and it's driving me nuts!

But for teachers, there is so many great resources. We've got FB, Pinterest, blogs, and more.

TBA is a big part of it for me and has a few cool features you should check out.

First, TBA has a Pinterest link up area!

Click this pic to go add your own Pinterest page!

TBA also has a newspaper. Did you know that? It's an online newspaper with headlines, pictures, and videos of the lastests posts and freebies that TBA authors think you should read about!

Click the pic to go start reading!

And of course, there is my favorite area, the favorite events! Any linky parties, giveaways, book studies, any kind of those goodies, is all in this one area!

Click above to go straight to favorite events!

So, I hope those get you more involved or find someone new you didn't know before!
